Outstanding Tacos and Queso Fundido Dip at Big Star (Chicago)

Headed to Big Star in Chicago last night. If you’re willing to brave the wait, it’s one of the best places to eat and drink in the city when the weather’s nice. The prices are also very reasonable – the tacos are $3/piece, the queso fundido dip is $8, and there are always $3 beer and whiskey specials.

Left: Tacos Al Pastor – marinated, spit-roasted pork shoulder w/ grilled pineapple, grilled onion, and cilantro

Right: Tacos de Panza – crispy, braised pork belly w/ tomato guajillo sauce, queso fresco, onion, and cilantro

Queso Fundido Dip – melted queso chihuahua, rajas poblano, housemade chorizo, fresh tortillas
